System Biology

A systems biologist aims to model and understand an entire organism by characterizing dynamic environment - dependent functional inter relationships between its constituent parts (for example, genes, RNAs, proteins and metabolites). Our BioIT team manages the predictive power of systems biology through integration of biological knowledge. Our vision is to validate our hypothesis related to cell systems biology in S. cerevisiae and replicate them in humans to improve human health.

Current Focus Areas

Cancer Systems Biology Cancer is a systemic disease and cancer cells involve in complex interactions with surrounding microenvironment and other cancer cells. Our emphasis laid upon model these complex interactions with the help of systems biology and their evolution over time.

Metabolic Modeling Our BioIT team endeavor to construct robust genome scale model for model organisms’ by integration of –omics data. This will be helpful to predict desired parameters of biological system under varying genetic and environmental perturbations.

Biological Network Reconstruction We are designing metabolic and regulatory networks for cancer signaling pathways using a combination of network biology approaches and manual curation.
